In our social climbing world, no flex seems more paramount these days than who we know. Some are less bashful than others in their pursuit of hobnobbing, but the fulfillment at the end of the day remains quite hollow.
Every sentence that begins with “my good friend…” is usually the exact opposite, so why do we feel the need to pretend we are closer to people that we are not acquainted with at all?
Friends are dope, hard to argue with that. We love the banter, the familiarity, and the sense of home that your crew can create. The much-adored sitcom Friends danced with this nostalgic warmness to bits; everyone wanted to be part of the squad living in the same hallway and constantly playing pranks on each other.
Ultimately, you are the output of the people you spend the most time with.
So choose wisely.
